Two personalities with a multisided background!
Over the past ten years they leaded the choir The Gospel Voices Schweiz

Beatrice Schneider Kamber, 1958
comes from a press work family in Basle. She's a qualified serigrapher and has watched the many changes in her profession. After some further education and over 25 years experience she works now in a specified graphic company.

At he age of 25 she attended a theology course for laymen, an offer from the protestant church in Basel.
Besides her full time job she's leading wiht her husband a gospel choir in Basle.
In the project »Gospel Centre« she's in charge of the graphic layouts and the pre-press from all publication.
 

Christoph Kamber Schneider, 1960
comes from a old catholic family in Hägendorf (Kt. SO) and Hellbühl (Kt. Lu). After the teachers' college in Hitzkirch (Kt. LU), he studied old catholic theology in Bern. In autumn 2000 he converted to the evangelic-protestant church and continued his studies at the university in Basle.
On november the 20th 2005 he was ordained to a protestant pastor in Basle. He expanded his pastoral care expertise during the 90s with a training course for couple councils at the institute for marriages and families in Zurich, and courses for psycho-analysis in Bern and Zurich.

In his free time is the blind Christop a passionate jazz pianist. After the experience of leading different jazz formations he toured with a gospel choir and their gospel musical through Switzerland. That is how his own way with the gospel music began..

2001 he founded the first choir in Affoltern am Albis (ZH). Later two choirs in Basle and Aarburg (AG)joined The Gospel Voices.
Today there is just the choir in Basle left, which Christoph accompanys on the keyboard.

In the project »Gospel Center« Christoph Kamber is in charge of the project management.
 

Theological and spiritual alignment
Christoph and Beatrice are members of the evangelic-protestant national church. They are christians, based on the well known protestant confessional documents (Heidelberg Catechism, 1. and 2. Confession of Basle, 2. Helvetic Confession and the Leuenberg Agreement).
This obligation was made obvious at the ordain of Christoph to a protestant pastor of the Basle national church.

Both project leaders understand their religious direction as ecumenical open, based on Lessings Ring Parabel in Nathan the Wise.

Their spirituality grows with their experience and the evangelic-protestant tradition.
Moreover, since a few years especially with the gospel music and the enrichments caused from the meetings with people, who are looking for God, who want to speak to HIM, to sing and pray to HIM.

Beatrice und Christoph Kamber try as carefully as possible to get a pastoral care access to the being of seeking people, following the religious open ideas of Oskar Pfister and Eugen Drewermann.

With their Gospel Centre project, Beatrice and Christoph are now on a new way, on which they hope and look forward to offer searching people a new religious home with gospel music.
